EDUCATION BACK GROUND
Peter Mbithi, is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He holds a Master of Laws Degree, LLM from The University of Cape Town –UCT, where he majored in International Trade Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Competition Law and Advanced Company Law. This is in addition to his Bachelor of Laws, (LLB) Degree from the University of South Africa-UNISA obtained earlier.
Mr. Mbithi attended the School for Legal Practice at Cape Town, South
Africa, a Law School managed by both the University of Cape Town and the
Law Society of The Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, where he was trained in
Practice of the Law in South Africa.
Further and in addition, Mr. Mbithi attended and graduated with a Post
Graduate Diploma from The Kenya School of Law, where he polished his
Knowledge in the practice of the law in Kenya.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Before joining private practice, Mr. Mbithi has been in the legal practice world at different varied capacities, both within and outside Kenya.

THE COURT OF APPEAL OF SEYCHELLES
He was engaged as a Law Researcher at the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Seychelles. He did research on the law, and facts, for the Judges of the Court of Appeal. This involved drafting documents for the Judges. He was further involved in the day to day operations of the Court of Appeal, ensuring that the Court’s work met the mandate of the Court of Appeal, as set out in the Constitution and other enabling legislation, and conformed to local and international best standards.
Mr. Mbithi was further involved in the operations of SEYLII, a data based website for law resources in Seychelles, uploading decisions of the Court of Appeal unto the site. He remains the Seychelles liaison person for CODICES, an InfoBase on constitutional case-law of the Venice Commission. At this site, members share, with representatives from other countries legal material and Constitutional Courts’ decisions that touch on the Constitutions of the various countries.
Mbithi represented the Judiciary of the Seychelles at the first ever Congress of the International Council of International Arbitration at the Port Luis, Mauritius in 2016

He was employed as a Law Researcher by the Democratic Governance & Rights Unit (DGRU), a unit at the Public Law Department of the University of Cape Town, UCT.

MALAWI SUPREME COURT
Peter was seconded to the Supreme Court of Appeal, of Malawi to assist the Judges of that Court in law research under the Southern African Judicial Assistance Project managed by the University of Cape Town.

Mbithi was the Executive Officer – Legal Services Directorate, Ethics & Anti- Corruption Commission of Kenya
This is the main Government Institution fighting Corruption in Kenya. Reporting to the Chief Attorney, his work included administration of the legal services directorate of the Commission (which had at least 26 attorneys at all times). He was in-charge of the legal registry and engrossed all legal pleadings before filling them in court for the organization.
He consulted with various Government Departments and regulatory bodies on adherence to various regulations and relevant procedures and was involved in risk assessment of various Government Departments and drafted the relevant advice on risk management.
